In line with my fascination for industrial architecture, I chose to focus on the port of Marseille to capture the atmosphere and aesthetics that I felt during long walks through it. To what extent do modern freight traffic and globalization transform a port? What is left of our ideas of a port? What we can see with our own eyes?
Over the course of several months in Marseille, I tried to find a formal approach that reflects the fascinating aesthetics of today's ports and emphasizes the temporary nature of their buildings and installations. Their toy-like character can be used by the viewer to reflect on the impermanent nature of today's industrial landscapes.
